The pharynx/larynx is the part which connects the mouth to the windpipe and food pipe Larynx is nothing but the voice box which sits above the wind pipe and protects it.

Types Of Cancers

Oropharyngeal cancer forms in the oropharynx, the junction of the pharynx and the oral cavity. Cases are rising due to the human papillomavirus (HPV), an infection that can cause several different cancers.

Nasopharyngeal cancer originates in the nasopharynx, the upper portion of the pharynx located behind the nasal cavity.

Hypopharyngeal cancer is an additional type of throat cancer that originates at the juncture where the food tract and voice box are in close proximity. This cancer frequently responds to treatment in the same manner as laryngeal cancer.
